This Privacy Policy describes how Hest Corporation ("HEST," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and shares your personal information when you visit or make a purchase from hest.com (the "Site").

PERSONAL INFORMATION WE COLLECT

Device Information
When you visit the Site, we collect certain information about your device, including your web browser, IP address, time zone, and cookies installed on your device. As you browse the Site, we also collect information about the pages or products you view, the websites or search terms that referred you to the Site, and how you interact with the Site. We refer to this information as "Device Information." Some Device Information is collected only if you consent to non-essential cookies, as described in "Cookies and Consent" below.

We collect Device Information using the following technologies:
- "Cookies" are data files placed on your device that often include a unique identifier. For more information about cookies and how to disable them, visit https://www.allaboutcookies.org.
- "Log files" record actions on the Site, including your IP address, browser type, internet service provider, referring and exit pages, and date and time stamps.
- "Web beacons," "tags," "pixels," and similar scripts are small pieces of code that record information about how you browse the Site.

Order Information
When you make or attempt to make a purchase, we collect your name, billing address, shipping address, email address, phone number, and payment information. Payment card details are processed by Shopify and our payment providers. HEST does not store full payment card numbers. We refer to this information as "Order Information."

Account and Communications Information
If you create an account, sign up for emails or text messages, submit a review, contact customer service, or enter a promotion, we collect the information you provide, such as your name, email address, phone number, and the content of your messages.

When we refer to "Personal Information" in this Privacy Policy, we mean Device Information, Order Information, and Account and Communications Information.

COOKIES AND CONSENT

When you first visit the Site, we show a cookie banner that lets you Accept, Decline, or choose Preferences.

Strictly necessary cookies are always active. These are required for the Site to work, for example to keep items in your cart, process checkout, prevent fraud, keep the Site secure, and remember your cookie choice.

All other cookies and tracking technologies are off by default. They load only after you click Accept or turn on the relevant category in Preferences:
- Functionality: features such as embedded videos.
- Performance: analytics that help us understand how the Site is used.
- Targeting: advertising and marketing technologies used to measure and personalize ads and marketing messages.

If you click Decline, or do not make a choice, these technologies do not load.

You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the "Cookie Preferences" link at the bottom of every page. Your choice is saved for the browser and device you are using. If you clear your cookies or use a different browser or device, you will be asked again.

HOW WE USE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

We use Order Information to fulfill orders placed through the Site, including processing payment, arranging shipping, handling returns, and sending invoices and order confirmations. We also use it to:
- Communicate with you about your order and customer service requests;
- Screen orders for potential risk or fraud; and
- Where consistent with your preferences, send you information or advertising about our products and services.

We use Device Information to screen for potential risk and fraud (in particular, your IP address), to operate and improve the Site, to understand how visitors use the Site, and, if you have consented, to measure and personalize our advertising and marketing.

EMAIL AND TEXT MESSAGES

If you sign up for marketing emails or text messages, we use Klaviyo to send them. You can unsubscribe from emails at any time by clicking "unsubscribe" in any email, and you can stop text messages by replying STOP. Message and data rates may apply. We will still send transactional messages about your orders.

SHARING YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

We share Personal Information with service providers and partners that help us operate our business. Advertising, analytics, and marketing technologies on the Site receive information only after you consent, as described in "Cookies and Consent."

Analytics

- SlideRule, an analytics service that sends Site and ecommerce activity to Google Analytics and Meta. If you are logged in to your HEST account and have consented, this may include your name, email address, phone number, address, and purchase history.

Advertising
- Google (including Google Ads and YouTube)
- Meta (Facebook and Instagram)
- TikTok
- Pinterest

These partners may use cookies, pixels, and similar technologies to measure ad performance and show you ads on other websites and apps.

In addition, when you place an order, Shopify may send order and conversion information (such as order value, products purchased, and an encrypted or hashed version of your email address or phone number) directly from its servers to some of these partners, including Google, Meta, TikTok, Pinterest, and Klaviyo, so we can measure the results of our advertising.

Affiliate and ambassador programs
- AvantLink and Roster, which track purchases referred by our affiliate and ambassador partners.

Reviews
- Yotpo, which collects and displays product reviews.

Customer service and shopping features
- Richpanel, which provides our customer service chat and help desk. If you use chat or contact customer service, Richpanel processes your messages and contact information.
- Redo, for returns and package protection.
- Upcart, for our shopping cart.

Shopify Network Intelligence
Shopify may use information about your activity on our Site, combined with other information Shopify holds, to improve its products and to support advertising and personalization, as described in Shopify's terms and privacy policy.

Legal and business transfers
We may also share Personal Information to comply with applicable laws and regulations, to respond to a subpoena, search warrant, or other lawful request, to protect our rights, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

BEHAVIORAL ADVERTISING

With your consent, we use Personal Information to show you targeted advertisements or marketing communications we believe may interest you. The main way to control this on our Site is the cookie banner and the "Cookie Preferences" link described above. PRIVACY PREFERENCE SIGNALS

We recognize browser-based privacy preference signals such as Global Privacy Control ("GPC"). Where required by applicable law, we treat these signals as a request to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for targeted advertising, and we limit advertising and analytics technologies for that browser.

YOUR U.S. STATE PRIVACY RIGHTS

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under U.S. state privacy laws, including the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act ("CPRA") and similar laws in other states. These may include the right to:
- Know and access the personal information we have collected about you;
- Delete personal information we have collected from you;
- Correct inaccurate personal information;
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for targeted advertising; and
- Not receive discriminatory treatment for exercising your privacy rights.

To make a request, email us at [email protected] with the subject line "Privacy Request," or write to us at the mailing address below. Please tell us which right you want to exercise and the email address associated with your orders or account. We will verify your identity before fulfilling certain requests and respond within the time required by law. You may use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf, and we may ask for proof of that authorization.

If we deny your request, you may appeal by emailing us with the subject line "Privacy Request Appeal." We will respond to your appeal within the time required by law.

DO NOT SELL OR SHARE MY PERSONAL INFORMATION

We do not sell personal information for money. However, we share certain personal information with advertising and analytics partners, and under some U.S. state laws this may be considered a "sale" or "sharing" for targeted advertising.

You can opt out at any time by clicking Decline on our cookie banner, turning off Targeting cookies in Cookie Preferences, enabling Global Privacy Control in your browser, using our "Your Privacy Choices" page at https://gohest.info/pages/data-sharing-opt-out (also linked in the footer of our Site), or contacting us. On the Your Privacy Choices page, you can also opt out the customer account associated with your email address.

PERSONAL INFORMATION FROM OTHER SOURCES

We may receive personal information about you from service providers, advertising and analytics partners, social media platforms (for example, when you interact with our ads or social media pages), event partners, and publicly available sources. We may combine this information with information we collect from you directly.

DATA RETENTION

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including to complete transactions, provide services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When personal information is no longer needed, we securely delete or anonymize it.

CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

The Site is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

CHANGES

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our practices or for operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page when we do.
